Gongs, Himalayan Singing Bowls and other percussion instruments are used to create harmonious sounds to aid relaxation and produce a meditative state. The sweet complex tones from the instruments penetrate the mind and body and zone into our chakras to generate or move energy creating an overall balance.
You can experience a sound bath as an individual or in a group setting. A sacred space will be created using candles, incense and soft lighting in a warm comfortable environment. You will start the session with a guided relaxation to prepare you for your sound experience.
We have seven main chakras in our body, crown, third eye (just at the point between the eyebrows), throat, heart, solar plexus, sacral base, and root. Using one of the Vedic therapies taught to me in Rishikesh, India seven Himalayan singing bowls that are tuned into each chakra are placed around the body and chimed to create balance within the chakras whilst relaxing the mind and body. This can also be completed to focus on one of the main seven chakras.
Reiki translates as spiritual energy or universal life force energy. In healing it acts holistically physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually affecting all the energies comprising the human body. Reiki is a system of natural healing involving the laying on of hands. It is simple yet a powerful healing technique that is easily given and received. Everyone has their own individual experience or journey as healing comes to us all in the way in which we need it. It is gentle and unobtrusive. Reiki can also be incorporated with other therapies.
Taking part in a guided meditation is easy, you don’t need any special equipment, just yourself, some space and things from your home that make you feel comfortable, warm and cosy.
Find your comfortable space, you can lay down on a mat or bed, sit cross legged, sit in lotus position or in a chair, whatever position is the most comfortable for you.
Give yourself time, breath naturally and focus on your breath. When your mind starts to wander simply just watch, don’t engage just watch, entering a “witness” state of mind.
Meditation Restores your mind body and soul and will contribute to your overall wellbeing.
